Rare Antique all original antique double sided advertising sign for ‘E. C. Simmons Keen Kutter Cutlery and Tools’ Fully Guaranteed and Standard of America’. Note how this sign was designed to support the cast iron open cage string holder which would have been used in the country store that sold the Keen Kutter products! What an excellent idea and attractive way to utilize this functional sign and string holder. The cast iron string holder has the word ‘Ace’ raised in the iron and this open cage string holder measures 4 1/2″ diameter. This sign measures 18 1/2″ long and is 11 1/2″ wide. There is also two chains on this sign that are approximately 12″ long. This Keen Kutter sign is marked on the maker of the sign, ‘Chas. W. Shonk Company – Litho. Chicago No. H 2291’. What a remarkable find to have this be a country store display as well as an advertising sign for Keen Kutter tools!
