Sad Iron with Ornate Cast Iron Trivet –

The Iron is a Joseph Feldmeyer of Wurzburg Alcohol Iron. Top of fuel tank is marked “Feldmeyer” and “Patent” in a circle with a “W” in the center (see photo). Valve control is a little more ornate. Feldmeyer held patents in Germany, Hungary, Belgium, Austria and the US.  As a result of the marking on the burner, most likely the iron was make in Germany or Austria . Iron is heavy weighs appoximently 8 lbs the bottom of the iron is approximately 8 ½ inches long and 3 3/8 inches at its widest point.  Trivet is marked “Muster geschutzt” on the bottom and has a very ornate design. Overall length of trivet is about 14 inches long and 3 ¾ inches at its widest point.
