Thanks go out to Paul Tucker for sharing. “This 1892 patent was issued to James W. Campbell of Germantown, NY and assigned to the Ferguson Brothers of New York City, a manufacturer of “novelty furniture”. Campbell was issued many patents for furniture designs. A half dozen of these patents were related to this “Faux Bentwood” style. This umbrella stand is a very nice example of this type of work. ”
