What an amazing find is this never used old country store merchandise stock which advertises, ‘Whittemore’s Royal Gloss Shoe Polish’. The box advertises that this polish was ‘for blackening and polishing ladies and children’s boots, shoes, Rubbers and Co.’ This polish was made by Whittemore Bros. & Co. – Boston, U.S.A.’. The box holds 12 glass bottles with cork lids of shoe polish, and each bottle is still stored in individual graphic boxes light cardboard boxes with detailed graphics on both the boxes and the labels of each shoe polish as well. Each of the 12 boxes measure 5 3/4″ high by 1 3/4″ wide by 1 3/4″ deep. The polish has of course dried over all the years. The dove tailed wooden box is all secure complete with the wooden sliding lid that secures the items. The wooden shipping box measures 8″ long by 6″ wide and 6 1/2″ high.
