Antique cast iron toy signal cannon. Circa 1898. Commemorating George Dewey, who was Admiral of the Navy. He is best known for his victory at the Battle of Manila Bay during the Spanish–American War, with the loss of only a single crewman on the American side. Toy is marked Kenton Brand on back, in original dark finish with naval deck gun style carriage, cast iron wheels, and bust portrait of Dewey with crossed flags and sword on each side, The cannon barrel length is 7 1/2″. The overall measurements are 11 1/2″ long x 5. 1/2″ wide and 6″ high. The opening of the cannon hole is 1/2″ diameter on the interior of the opening. What a great cannon toy that you will not want to miss adding to your own personal antique toy collection.
