This is a great old antique Acme ice cream freezer. Notice the original paint and advertising that this freezer has along with Patent dates of Feb. 15th 1910, and July 23rd 1912. The freezer measures 8 3/4″ high to the edge of the bucket, and the handle extends another 3 3/4″ higher above the bucket’s edge. The diameter at the top is 8 1/2″ diameter and at the bottom it is 7 1/4″ in diameter. This Acme Freezer was made by the ‘Acme Can Co., Inc of Philadelphia, PA. USA’. This freezer advertises: ‘The durable, sanitary, all-metal Acme Freezer has no gears or other complicated parts to wear out. Produces smooth velvety ice cream water ices, sherbets or frozen pudding with 5 minutes easy turning. Saves Ice, Saves Time, Saves Space. The lid of the ice cream compartment has wrote in raised lettering instructions on how to make the frozen desserts. The instructions read; ‘Directions Use Only Ice Cream Salt – Never Stop Turning Handle After Freezing Begins – Dry on Stove’. What a great 1/2 gallon little freezer this is. It would still make ice cream today if you wanted to put a little work into it. A fun and brightly decorated ice cream freezer! –
