Antique Bronze Statue of Lioness with Two Cubs – P. LeCourtier

This is a remarkable and heart touching bronze statue that depicts a lioness in a protective snarling pose as she protects her two cubs that are at full attention below their mother’s paws. This is an impressive statue that measures 13 3/4″ high and the base is 16″ x 7 1/2″, while the longest point from the tail to the mouth is 21 1/2″ long. This is an artist signed bronze and the last name I believe is ‘LeCourtier’ and the first initial is a P. This would then represent this statue as made by the artist Prosper Lecourtier, (1855 to 1924) a French artist. This is a beautiful piece of art.
