Antique Country Store Oak Countertop Lisle Advertising Display and Storage Cabinet – Ribbon or Thread Cabinet

Antique country store display cabinet that dispensed a product that appears to have been related to sewing. Note the slots that would have secured the product, which perhaps could have been ribbon or thread and the sizes varied from 1/4″ width to 1″ width. There are twelve different slots to secure the product and note how the slots have a slit in the dividers that would have allowed the product to be released on a spool type dispensing mechanism. There is still an original label on this cabinet that reads, ‘American Beauty – Lisle’ ‘Extra Super’. I was unsuccessful in referencing much information regarding a Lisle product. However, I am still leaning towards ribbon as if you look closely there is an open slat in the front board of this cabinet where the product was dispensed out of the slat right below the front label that identifies the width of the ribbon. This is a well-built country store display that has dovetailed corners notice how even the lift top glass door has a dovetail corner to secure it. This cabinet measures 15 1/4″ wide by 7 1/2″ high on the backside of the cabinet and 5″ high on the front. This piece is 6 1/4″ deep.
