Antique Folk Art Penny Rug – Circa Late 1800’s

Antique all original folk art penny rug. Circa late 1800’s or early 1900’s. Notice that each of the circles or tear drops have four pieces stitched on top of each piece for a wonderful color combination. Good original condition with the wear being mainly in the backing fabric in between the circles and tear drops. The overall diamond measurement of this rug is 34 1/2″ wide by 57″ long. The circle shapes are at the largest 2 1/2″ diameter while the top circle is just 1/2″ diameter. The tear shapes are 4″ long and the top layer is 1″ in length. This is an amazing piece of folk art and the colors and pattern is very eye catching and striking.
