This old print depicts three Native Americans in a canoe battling through rough waters on a dark, cloudy day. Frederic Remington was a world renowned painter and sculptor and most well known for his western art. This print is marked in the lower right hand corner, ‘Frederic Remington’. The print measures 12″ x 18″ and is held secure in an old wooden frame with the dark fumed finish that measures 16 1/2″ x 22 1/2″. On the backside of this frame impressed in the wood there is the information, ‘Gardner State Colony’. You can tell that this print has been in this frame for a very long time, look at the old backing and aging where the nails have held this back board in place over the years. This is a nice example of Remington’s work. Don’t miss adding this print to your own personal Native American art collection.
