Antique Oak Receipts Cased Cabinet – Recapitulator – Dated 1905 – Country Store

What a unique and quality made business filing piece this is that stores one’s business receipts and invoices. There is a metal plaque attached to the front of the collapsible filing cabinet that reads, ‘Recapitulator – No 2260 – Patented Oct 3, 1905 – Manufactured by American Sales Book Company – Elmira, New York – USA’. This cabinet measures 10″ wide by 17″ depth and is 5″ high. When one opens the cabinet, it is approximately 21″ wide and when opened and standing on the end 17″ high. Notice the wordage on some of the paper invoices inside of this cabinet read; ‘Bert C. Brown & Son – Marion Center, PA’, and the charges seem to be for charges for gas. Beautiful quarter sawn oak and strong decorative hinges were used to compile this quality piece. –
