All original and in excellent condition Red Wing sponge ware #8 size paneled crock bowl with advertising on the inside that reads, ‘It Pays to Mix with Stell’s Store – Hudson, Iowa’. The wordage does not clearly define for us the type of merchandise that Stell’s Store was a distributor of, but what a clever and witty saying on a stoneware mixing bowl. The bowl measures 4 3/4″ high and has a diameter of 8 1/4″. The bottom is 4″ in diameter. This bowl is definitely one that you will want to add to your own personal collection of Red Wing Sponge ware stoneware, and in particular if you collect Iowa advertising. –
