This is an exceptional antique table lamp that was made by the Parker Lamp Company. This is a reverse painted ice chipped glass highly decorated floral shade lamp. All original condition.
The Parker Lamp Company was started by Charles Parker (1809 to 1902) and the company produced guns, buttons, match safes and many other products along with lamps. Lamps were mainly produced 1860 through 1897. Parker lamps originally had a paper label on the bottom of the lamps to identify them.
The Parker Lamp Company was sold in 1940 to Bradley Hubbard (his cousin) and at that time the company was owned by Charles Parker’s son. One can find more information on this company in the Electric Lighting of the 20’s and 30’s. book on page 105. This reference book was published 1988.
This lamp measures 24 1/2″ high is 21 1/2″ diameter approximately on the shade and the base is 8″ diameter. This lamp is referred to as being Number L 746 – has two lights and is hand decorated panels that have been fired. Has a metal base and the finish is antique gold. This is a beautiful lamp.
