This is an unusual piece that was an early wooden kitchen primitive food mold. I have been told that this was for making bread sticks when baking? Notice that there is a manufacture label on this piece that reads, ‘Thos. Mills & Bro. Inc. Confectioners & Bakers Tools – Philadelphia’. This tool made items that were 3/4″ in diameter and the end is marked with this fraction. Perhaps this mold was for candy, note that on the inside there is ridged metal cutting dividers between the fourteen 3/4″ slots. The mold comes apart in two sections the bottom measures 13 1/4″ wide while the top is 19″ wide, when together this piece measures 5″ high. This is a unique early kitchen wooden mold that would make a fun addition to one’s wooden kitchen collectibles collections.
