This is a beautiful Victorian antique art glass pickle castor that features a cranberry satin finish glass insert that is decorated with painted enamel flower and leaves. This insert measures 4 3/4′ high and has a diameter of 3 1/2″. This remarkable insert is held in a signed, ‘James W. Tufts – Boston – Quadruple Plate – 3397’ silver-plated holder which features two Kate Greenaway full figured girls on opposite sides of the holder. This is a remarkable holder and you will want to note the fully engraved bottom of this holder. Notice the ruffled edge which gives a beautiful and fitting design with the little girls. Note that there is one small split in the metal on this ruffled base. Not noticeable unless examining the piece in fine detail. This stand measures 9 3/4″ high and the base is 4″ x 4″.
