Cast iron plane in original green color and has two pilots seated in cockpit and a passenger in the second window. The airplane has a cast ribbed fuselage with “BREMEN” lettered “D1167″. This toy measures 6 1/2″ from wing tip to tip and 7 1/4″ length from tail to front of propellor and 2 3/4” Height. Circa 1920″s
The Bremen made the first successful westward flight across the Atlantic in the late 1920’s. Three flyers are visible in the windows. This toy was also made in a large size but since it was only manufactured for only a few years, it is now hard to find in either size. In the book Cast Iron Toys by Outwater and Weart page 169. they list the toy as an F which prices between $1100 – 1700.
