Antique Victorian Oak Stationery Letter Writing Supplies Storage Box – With Calendar – Personalized Plaque Dated 1901

This is a personalized stationery letter writing desk for a businessman or salesman and it is made from oak and features a personalized plaque that reads, ‘Presented to L.W. Woodman on the occasion of his marriage – September 17th, 1901, by the Directors and Solicitors of the Dover Electricity Supply Company Ltd.’. This box when it is closed measures 11 1/2″ high is 16 3/4″ long and 9″ wide. Note the well-built metal hinged handles on either end of the box. This box has all the details, a clock faced type of calendar for marking the day and month of the year. Several slots for stationery and notes. Drawers for holding ink and mathematical instruments along with a drop-down writing surface desk with a lift top storage section beneath the desk. Inside this desk there is personalized shareholder papers that date to 1869. Oh, the stories that this case could share over the past 125 years. Circa 1900’s. Note that on the sides of this oak box there is oak veneer that is coming off, this is the only imperfection to note.
