This is a beautiful Victorian Mary Gregory Blue Cake plate. The gorgeous detailed enameled silhouette is of young children dancing to a tune being played by one of the children surrounded by grass, foliage and a bird painted on a rich blue colored glass. The square shaped silver plated footed holder is marked on the underside ‘Middleton Plate Co. – Hard White Metal – Quadruple Plate – 1846’. This piece measures 9 1/4″ by 10 1/4″ and the height to the top of the handle is 9 3/4″ high. Circa 1890. This is an exceptional piece of Mary Gregory done in the blue color.
