Antique Cast Iron penny or coin still bank that is referred to as Old Abe with a Shield Bank. The history regarding the eagle Old Abe is as follows: Old Abe (May 27, 1861 – March 26, 1881) was a bald eagle who was the mascot of the 8th Wisconsin Volunteer Infantry Regiment in the American Civil War. Later, his image was adopted as the eagle appearing on a globe in Case Corporation’s logo and as the screaming eagle on the insignia of the U.S. Army’s 101st Airborne Division. This bank measures 3 7/8″ Height, 2″ wide by 1 1/2″ deep. Circa 1890. Great bank for your still bank collection. Don’t miss out on this early cast iron bank.
