Crown Milano Pickle Castor in Pairpoint Silver-plated Holder

Exceptional all original condition on this Crown Milano pickle castor insert that is done in the hobnail pattern and is decorated with a floral design. The silver-plated base is engraved by its maker, ‘Pairpoint Mfg. Co. – New Bedford, Mass. – Quadruple Plate – #664’. This pickle castor is like the one that is featured in the antique reference book, ‘Mt. Washington Art Glass’ by Betty B. Sisk, on page 129. This pickle castor is complete with the silver-plated lid, and pickle tongs. This piece when assembled measures 8 1/2″ high at the widest is 4 1/2″ diameter. Over the years the original owners of this pickle castor cut out a magazine article that featured a pickle castor almost identical to this one. The paper appears to be from the Hobbies Magazine and dated 1974. This is one of the nicest pickle castors that we have ever been able to find! It will make an exceptional addition to one’s Victorian pickle castor collection!
