Facebook

Antique Wood Dentzel Carousel Carved Wood Horse. This neat horse was a middle row prancer carved by the Dentzel carousel company that operated in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. The horse was restored in the 1980’s by Rita Orre, of Ohio who was very well known for restoring carousel figures in the world of quality Carousel Circles, when looking for the best carousel artist. She and her husband Allen helped with the restoration of Broad Ripple Park Carousel, The Children’s Museum of Indianapolis, Indiana.
John and Annette bought this horse from Rita years ago. The horse is very solid, one can tell that the paint has been on this horse for a while as there is some separation in the paint. This large horse stands 63″ height, 55″ length and 12″ depth. Circa 1905.
