Exceptional paper calendar for the year 1926 that was put out by the Doe-Wah Jack Round Oak Stoves Company. This particular calendar was personalized for the, ‘Chas. A Walker – Hardware Stove and Ranges Phone No. 8 – Renwick, Iowa’. This calendar depicts a Native American enjoying a smoke on his pipe along side the rivers edge. The painting is signed by the artist, ‘H.Hergel’, and the scene is titled, ‘Peaceful Counsel’. This calendar is top quality all the way around, notice the texture details in the paper, to the beads around the painting to the embossed Native American items in the background of the painting and the bottom section next to the calendar has two embossed emblems for Round Oak Stoves. On the right hand sign the Round Oak stove emblem advertises, ‘The Round Oak Folks Make Good Goods Only’, and then on the left side is the Round Oak Stove Indian and the words, ‘Round Oak – Doe-Wah Jack Stoves, Ranges and Heating Systems. The overall measurements of this paper advertising calendar is 10 1/2″ x 20 3/4″. The Native American painting is 7 1/2″ x 14 1/2″ and the paper calendar that is still all complete with all the months measures 5″ x 2 1/2″. This is a fine piece of advertising that is extremely colorful and whether you collect Native American, Round Oak Stove, or paper advertising you will want to add this calendar to your own personal collection. –
