Iron Anvil from Germany with History

Interesting Anvil that was purchased from a family in Omaha Nebraska.  This all original iron anvil came from Germany. We have a hand written note with this anvil that reads, ‘My Dad served in WWII and during manuevers behind enemy lines came across the anvil. He got the OK from U.S. Govt. to keep it, and under the Finders Keepers Law mailed the anvil back home. My dad was Kenneth Thompson.
