This fabulous rocker was made by the Merklen Brothers in NYC between 1885 and 1895. The interlocking spiral lattice is called Moorish Fretwork and was patented by Moses Y. Ransom in 1885.
The back with a woven solid wood dowel surface flanked by barley twist sides. Supported by barley twist legs and stretcher base. Circa 1890
