Early salt glaze ovoid or beehive shaped crock jug with cobalt blue design and impressed with the number ‘3’ and ‘Campbell & Thomas – Penn Yan’. The cobalt design reminds one of primitive drawing of a bird’s wings or a bird drawing. This crock jug is in excellent all original condition and measures 16 1/2″ high and at widest has a diameter of 10 1/2″, with the base measuring just 7 1/4″. This early crock jug has wonderful character and uniqueness.
