Ohaus – Newark Scale Co. Antique Country Store Seed iron Scale with brass pan – 1915

This all original old antique country store seed scale is complete with the brass scoop for weighing and filling seed bags. This scale is called the Ohaus Scale and was made by the maker, ‘Newark Scale Works of Newark, New Jersey. There is also a name plate for Seed Trade Reporting Bureau of Chicago, Ill. – Capacity 500 grams’. There is a patent date of March 9, 1915 on this scale. The brass scoop measures 11 1/2″ long and is approximately 6 1/2″ wide. The base of the scale is 9 1/2″ wide by 4 1/2″ deep, with the brass scoop in place this scale is approximately 9 1/2″ high. This scale will weigh 500 grams or 70 pounds.
