This is a large and colorful ‘Stop and Go’ safety calendar that depicts a traffic safety policeman directing traffic to help the children get across the street safely. This is large, framed calendar sign that actually shows three years. 1951, 1952 and 1953. Someone over the more recent years has taken this large paper calendar and had it framed at a Hobby Lobby store. (Labels are on the back) This frame measures 32″ wide by 46″ high. One can’t help but smile when you look at the children and their expressions as they are trying to get their stubborn dog to cross the street. ‘Stop and Go’ is a great title for this print! Note that this calendar is marked made by Colsotint Lithograph in USA by U.O. Colson Company, Paris Illinois is where this was made. There is an artist signature on the top corner of the Stop and Go print and I think it reads, ‘R. Skem’. All of the different traffic signs that border the print are also a very colorful and attractive touch! There are several different businesses that have advertised their businesses on this calendar and note all the three-digit phone numbers. I don’t see a city name, however. Does anyone recognize one of these businesses? Wherever you choose to display this large antique paper calendar poster it is going to bring a smile to those who stop and take it in!
