Antique Quarter Sawn Oak Carved Round Frame with Dog Painting – Dated 1880

This is a unique and what was once I am sure a very personalized painting of someone’s dog who was named, ‘Jack’. Notice the dog’s name ‘Jack’ personalized on the collar of the dog’s neck. This painting was done on a concave canvas for a unique dimension and then framed in this equally beautiful quarter sawn oak frame with detailed floral carving on the edge of the frame. Also, on the backside of this painting there is a partial label that reads, ‘Patented August 31, 1880’. Notice that this frame has a wider thickness where the carved floral design is. The diameter of this oak frame is 23 1/2″ diameter. This is a beautiful piece of artwork and was make with quality through and through.
