This 4 1/4″ diameter tip tray advertises ‘President Suspenders – Hohns’ Absolute Comfort’. This tray dates to the early 1900’s. Upon doing a search we learned that August Hohn, was a leading merchant of Marysville, and one of the successful business men of northern Kansas. In 1876, Mr. Hohn opened a general store in Marysville. Due to the success of this business, Mr. Hohn later helped organize the Marshall County Bank which he became one of the directors for, and later the Vice President.
This tray depicts a beautiful young woman with the advertising wordage encircling the tip tray. Excellent all original condition and one can note that this tray has some weight to it and the bottom appears covered with a clear glass type covering which would explain the excellent condition of this tray.
