Product #G285D
Facebook

This is a remarkable example of Rookwood art pottery that is decorated with a corn cob and the sterling overlay design is very eye catching pattern of leaves and grapes on a vine. The jug is marked on the bottom, with the Rookwood symbol and is dated 1892. There is also the artist initials of, ‘S.L.’ which would be the artist Sturgis Lawrence. This vase is marked with the catalog number on the bottom, ‘S976’. The ‘S’ means it is a special shape and the numbers 976 were the catalog number. The marking ‘W’ is for the color of clay that was used. Please note that the overlay is marked, ‘Gorham Sterling’ around the edge of the stopper. This piece measures 7 1/2″ high and is 4 1/2″ diameter. The top opening is 1″ in diameter and is secured with a cork stopper. We are thrilled to be able to offer this remarkable piece for sale.
