What a unique cast iron holder that supports three sad irons and would have allowed you to keep all three of the irons warm using just one burner! This set is complete with three Mrs. Potts sad irons that are identified on the top as such in raised lettering. The irons each have a wooden handle that of course is easily removeable. The holder for the irons has a patent date on the iron base, it is difficult to be completely certain of the date. It appears to me to possibly be, ‘Pat’d ?? ’86 or ’06’. This piece dates either 1886 or 1906 time period is my best reading of the marking. This dome shaped holder measures 7″ high is 5 1/2″ wide across where the irons rest however at the widest measurement it is 9″ wide. If you collect sad irons what a treasure to find this unique piece along with the three Mrs. Potts irons that make this set complete. The irons measure 6 1/2″ long by 3 1/4″ wide on the bottoms.
