Antique Mahogany Drop Front Secretary Desk – This fine desk has beautiful carved wing griffins on each side of the drop front door. The gallery on top has flamed final on each corner, The slant front lid is highly decorated with winged cherub face over a carved floral garland swag. The five drawers above the desk have a mechanical locking ability controlled by the brass lever on the interior of desk all of these drawers are working. The interior is really special with some drawers are hidden and the carved side panels will open when you release a hidden locking pin. There are four curved shaped hand dovetailed drawers with wonderful carved keyhole covers. Supported on carved claw feet and decorative carvings between the feet on both sides and front. This is gorgeous desk of very good quality. Measures 39 1/2″ wide, 24″ depth and 58″ height. Circa 1890.
