Antique Cast Iron Show Boat Toy – Arcade – in original box

This cast iron toy condition is remarkable, and we still have the Box with a label on the end that reads: Arcade Toy Showboat – Arcade Manufacturing Company Freeport, Illinois Made in the United States of America. Steamboat of cast iron, painted in white body, green hull, red roof, embossed “Showboat” on sides, bell on base rings when pulled along floor (still has the iron anchor tied to the end of pull string), “Arcade” decal on side. We are showing a copy of the original ad that Arcade had in their catalogue. Modeled after the Showboat used in Carl Laemmle’s Great Universal Motion Picture “Showboat”. This was a pull toy and when axles turned it would ring a bell. Measures 11″ length, 4 1/2″ height and 3″ wide. Circa 1930.
