Antique original oak counter top country store showcase that would have been used to sell the product for the company ‘The Winsted Silk Company – Chicago’. Note on both sides of this oak cabinet there is gold lettering with this wordage and advertising. The cabinet does not have any shelving but one could easily add glass shelving if you wanted. This cabinet with double doors measures 23″ high and is 20″ wide by 12″ deep. What a great old country store advertising cabinet to display your collections in!
We found a little history on the Winsted Silk Company that we thought you might find interesting as well. The Winsted Silk Company was organized in 1875 during a period of great expansion in the American Silk Industry, and was incorporated in 1883. The firm began by producing silk thread under the brand-name ‘Potter’s Spool Silk.
