This is a beautiful signed piece of Wedgwood that has been done in a pitcher. This same style of pitcher is photographed in the book, ‘Wedgwood Jasper Ware – A Shape Book and Collectors Guide’, by Michael Herman on page 94 and they refer to this pitcher as being called, ‘Orange – Jug’ – Euterpe – mark Wedgwood, Circa 1890′. One can quickly see the Muse, ‘Euterpe – the Muse of Lyric Poetry’ is depicted on this jug, as well as on the opposite side there is ‘Apollo Musagetes’. This pitcher measures 5 1/2″ high, and at the base is 3 1/4″ diameter and the top from the spout to the end of the handle is 6 1/4″ wide. Excellent all original condition on this fine piece of signed, ‘Wedgwood’. Circa 1890.
