This is a very rare oak hall tree. Mercury is Carved of Solid quarter sawn Oak and done very well has three hooks with original round shaped beveled mirror and a beautiful cane and umbrella holder. Mercury is holding the Caduceus. In Roman Mythology Mercury was a Messenger Who Wore Winged Sandals, and a God of Trade, Thieves, and Travel. He Carried the Caduceus in His Left Hand, and Guided the Dead and Protected the Merchants, Shepherds, Gamblers, Liars, and Thieves. This is a wonderful piece of oak furniture and would be a great addition to your collection. Measures 81″ Height, 32″ Width, 16″ Depth. Circa 1900.
