Old Etruscan Majolica Pottery Shell and Seaweed Pitcher. The pitcher is decorated in relief with shells and seaweed in striking colors of pink, cream, green, and brown. The rim is scalloped, and the handle is branch shaped. The interior is pink, and the base is green and tan. The bottom of the pitcher bears the maker’s mark which is impressed under the glaze. The mark is the Griffen, Smith & Hill Etruscan Majolica mark, with the “GSH” in a circle. The word “Etruscan” appears above the circle and the word “Majolica” appears below the circle. Also impressed on the bottom, under the glaze, is the letter “E” and the number “26”. Measures 5 3/4 inches high x 8 1/4 inches wide from tip of spout to edge of handle. This pitcher is in very good condition with no damage.
