This exquisite antique secretary desk, crafted from quarter-sawn oak around 1900, presents a striking combination of functionality and decorative carving. The upper section features a shield shaped mirror flanked by scroll carved figural supports resembling winged lions or griffins. Below the mirror, two small drawers provide additional storage. The central drop-leaf panel, adorned with a decorative carved motif and a small brass escutcheon, opens to reveal a well-appointed interior with multiple pigeonholes and a small central drawer. The lower section comprises two glass-front cabinet doors, showcasing interior shelving suitable for books or display items. Beneath the cabinet are two additional drawers.
