Exceptional mechanical cast iron toy bank that features a boy on trapeze. Manufactured by J. Barton Smith Company, Philadelphia. Circa 1888. Cast iron, japanned base, hand painted figure, originally sold as French’s Automatic toy. The coin deposit of a penny, nickel or quarter allows gravity to make the figure revolve for varied number of spins. This is a fun and active mechanical bank that you will not want to miss adding to your own personal antique toy bank collection. This bank measures on the base 5″ wide by 5″ deep and is 9 1/4″ high.
