A.C. Williams was founded in 1886 by Mr. Adam Clark Williams in Chagrin Falls Ohio. Just Three years later a big fire destroyed the Factory. Fire destroyed it again in 1892, Williams moved the company to Ravenna Ohio. Actual Production Began there in 1893. Williams began to provide traveling salesmen with miniature samples of the company’s products. A Detroit buyer pointed out the miniatures would make nice toys. Soon A.C. Williams was the largest toy and still bank manufacture in the world. The Woolworth’s Dime Store chain was among the company’s biggest customers.
