This revolving stereoscope was designed and manufactured by Alexander Beckers of New York, this is the basic early style with one pair of viewing lenses, constructed of mahogany, holds 36 stereo view cards made of glass a continuous belt. You simple turn the outside knob to view the different photos. According to what I could find online: Alexander Beckers was an early photographer, artist, inventor and merchant in New York City. He is best know for his early work with the revolving stereoscope. He moved to NYC in 1844 and received 10 stereoscope patents from 1857 to 1877. His business was located at 560 Broadway, New York City. The stereoscopic views that are made on glass are some of the most rare and hard to find so many were all broke up over time.
This cabinet is very unique to still have the iron stand that adjust by turning the thumb screw so you could view at any height you prefered. There is a brass label that reads: Alex Beckers New Your Patents April 7, 1857 March 1 and 20 1859 April 12, 1859 and December 18, 1859. There are 36 glass slides. Measures 10 1/2 x 12″ and 47 1/2″ Height. The photographer on the glass viewing cards  is  S. Mason Niagara Falls, New York.

This was purchased years ago from a man named Charlie Werner of Loup City, Nebraska. He was in charge of the local dump and probably acquired when some one was cleaning out there home! – $4750.
