Antique Painted Bronze Rug Seller Statue by Franz Bergman, 1910’s

This item is an antique Austrian cold-painted bronze sculpture titled “The Carpet Dealer,” created by Franz Xaver Bergman (1861–1936). Standing figure of an Arabian man looking to his left as he holds up the corners of a rug for display. Cold-painted bronze, a labor-intensive process where paint is applied to the bronze surface after casting. signed with a “B” within an amphora stamp on the underside.  This statue measures 7″ wide is 8 1/2″ deep and 6 1/2″ high.
