Antique Peachblow Art Glass Claret Jug Pitcher – Hobbs Wheeling – 1886

This is a Wheeling Peachblow Claret Jug by Hobbs, Brockunier and Company, identifiable by its iconic red-to-amber shaded glass gradient. It was produced around 1886 in Wheeling, West Virginia, and features a distinct applied amber glass handle. This specific piece is recognized as a classic example of Victorian Art Glass, often referred to as a ewer or pitcher. This famous variety was a two-layer “cased” art glass. It features an opaque white interior with an exterior that blends from deep mahogany/red at the top into a soft golden-yellow at the base. Measures 10 1/4″ height, base is 5″ Diameter.
