This all original and framed oil painting by Italian artist, Cesare Vinaello, features two ladies with a young child feeding pigeons in St. Mark’s Square (Piazza San Marco). Life revolved around the piazza since the days of the Republic, when it was a market as well as the center of civic and religious life. Considered one of the finest squares in the world and certainly Venice’s prime attraction which made for a remarkable scene in this painting in front of the Saint Mark’s Basilica. Note the details throughout on both the buildings and the people.
Vianello was born in 1862 and died in 1920. His paintings are very desirable in the art market, and this particular painting measures 34 1/2″ by 27 1/2″ with the frame.

This particular painting was originally purchased in Omaha Nebraska and has been in the collection of Vera DavisĀ  a former resident of Gothenburg, Nebraska who died in 1975 and then passed the paintingĀ  down in the family.
